Focus on Health!

     Why do you exercise? To lose weight? To add muscle? To look better? These are some of the most common reasons given. And exercise does help in these areas. However, many times people overlook the most important reason to exercise - their health! The good news is, that while it takes a lot of exercise to lose weight and build muscle, it takes much less exercise to provide significant health benefits. As little as 20 minutes three times weekly can provide you with increased HDL (good) cholesterol, reduced blood pressure, reduced cancer risk, reduced triglycerides, increased metabolism, increase psychological well-being and greater cardiovascular efficiency. So, even if you aren’t seeing the results on the outside, you must remember that you are doing the inside or your body tremendous good! Park Place Wellness Program

The Park Place Wellness and Fitness Center is pleased to offer Park Place companies these comprehensive employee wellness services. Please contact the Wellness Center at (949) 553-8558 to inquire about designing a wellness program to meet the specific needs of your company.

Health Risk Appraisal - Developed by the University of Wisconsin, this health risk appraisal takes into account all the major health and safety risk factors and provides a comprehensive summary to each employee. Employees will then be counseled on how to proactively improve their health and safety using proven preventative health care.

Company Health Assessment - Using the health risk appraisal we will put together a comprehensive report on your company’s specific risks. For example, we may find that 30 percent of your employees have too much fat in their diet, or that 50 percent don’t regularly exercise. We can then formulate classes and incentive programs to improve these numbers and make your company healthier.

Park Place Wellness and Fitness Center - A fully equipped at-work, on-site health club featuring complete weight facilities, complete cardiovascular room, lockers, shower, sauna and towel service, . We are here exclusively for the convenience of the employees at Park Place. Employees who exercise regularly are less likely to miss work, are more productive, have lower health care costs and have a better attitude. The Wellness Center provides a great, low-cost benefit to your employees.

Wellness Classes - Educational instruction can be provided to classes of employees during lunch hours. Healthy eating, stress management, weight loss and exercise adherence are among the topics available. Information from the company health assessment and employee health risk appraisal can be used to determine the classes that would best suit your company.

Nutrition Counseling - One-on-one nutritional counseling is available to employees wishing to lose weight or simply improve their dietary habits.

Exercise Prescription - Everyone should exercise. Unfortunately knowing what type of exercise best suits an individual’s fitness level and goals can be challenging. Individualized exercise prescription will give employees an opportunity to meet with a fitness expert who will design a program tailored to their unique requirements.

Exercise Incentive Programs - Studies have shown that work-site exercise incentive programs can have a dramatic impact on motivating employees to begin an exercise program. These programs encourage group participation and give small prizes to employees that are successful in completing the program.

Weekly Wellness Tips - Weekly wellness tips that are disseminated through a company’s email, and on bulletin boards provide on-going reminders to keep employees on the road to better health and wellness.

Blood Pressure Checks - High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart disease. We can come to your office, or you can have employees drop into the Park Place Wellness Center to have their blood pressure checked regularly.

Body Composition Checks - Body composition provides a much more accurate way of monitoring fitness progress than the scale. Since muscle weighs more than fat, weight loss is often misleading and discouraging. Body composition testing (also called body fat testing), provides employees with a breakdown of muscle and fat weight. As with the blood pressure check, we can come to your office or employees can come to the Wellness Center to have their body composition checked.

Basal Metabolic Rate Checks - BMI has been used to assess health body weight, and determine proper caloric intake for health weight management. Studies have shown that individuals with a healthy BMI are less likely to suffer serious illness.

Personal Training - Park Place personal training offers on-on-one exercise direction by experts. Participants will be assured that they will have a program that will be safe and effective.

Health Fairs - We will work with local vendors, hospitals and insurance companies to provide a fun and informative event for your employees.
